the inadequacies of the admin has led to disention and separation of many friends.. here's what i as a life member/charter member think what needs to happen,, and now!! not later. i will address this as we instead of i,,so i don't sound like some asshole trying to take credit for a solution,,,and we is me and chase,, those agreeing with me and chase or have something to add,,, please post... those not then so be it.. no hard feelings here... 1-we want a member presence list when a member joins in on line, we wanna know who's in here! 2- we want proper dates of service not some group bullshit that shows the new site date 3- we want no anonymous posts what so ever 4- we want to log in once! not every time we come in, fix the remember me button! 5- we want admin to fix the browser bullshit! pick one and stay on it! 6- we want a forum section thats private! the criteria should be a 2yr member either life or charter and an online presence of 1 yr and a minimum of 50 posts.. 7- we want 2 or three moderators that have the power to either delete a post or move it to where it belongs, also the power to issue warnings of "crossing the line".. 8- we want immediate answers returned when the moderators pose a question or need 9- we want a publicized list of all on line members with the database to back it up 10- we want any club function that is a verified club get together to get some attention from the mag 11- we want the respect that any customer deserves and no excuses are tolerated.. 12- we want giv as a moderator jk had ta make ya smile... i will though btw
oh i almost forgot! anyone else been not getting their monthly steak and beer? that needs to be fixed right away too! see,,, those aren't such bad ransom demands.....
so there,,, lets quit this bickering shit and haul admins ass across the carpet!!! so either add to or agree.. lets see where our members stand.. cause i believe that if this site wasn't effed with a year ago,, none of this bullshit would be taking place... the credit or the blame needs to be placed where its deserved and a remedy needs to be applied! its now or never guys, make yer decisions,, either or

Ok Giv...I think those are reasonable demands...Not bad at all...I agree something has to happen here...From what I have seen, I think they all have jumped ship...The janitor is left and he's acting as the "I.T." guy...

Those seem like reasonable requests. My personal opinion is that anyone employed by the club is either hiding in fear or stealing what they can before the ship sinks. I have not heard a peep to confirm that the Corporation is still in Business. Not even a Club Rag lately.

Giv I agree with your points and I don't believe any are unreasonable although I question these folks ability to get them done. I am irked a bit about my join date I've been a lifer since 05 and they list me as 08 I know it's a small thing but indicative of other more serious problems. Early on I didn't post much because the site was such a pita so I kinda ignored it. As of late the site has been working well for me and I've posted some and been on chat and was finally able to post an avatar so something changed, for others there still seems to be problems. I'm no computer guru so I don't know if firewalls etc. have an effect on how these things work. I can't believe there are no mods on the forums I for one would be willing to help in that respect I'm retired and could make time for that task. I agree we need to quit bashing each other and focus on those that can fix the problems, that lets us get back to the business this site was designed for. As to the steak and beer I'm not getting mine either lol...Regards,Dennis

If this will put a end to this bull $hit then I'm all for it. The new people that have been here less than a year have no idea what were talking about. Its about a car club that use to be one of the if not the best car website. The admin changed to a different server and promised us everything would be great and better than the old site. Turned out to be all lies. It been a year now and that's been enough time to straighten this website out. They couldn't tell you how to post a picture if their paycheck depended on it. I have to use IE and Firefox to make this post. Ive tried to raise someone from administration several times with no response. The last time I saw a post from Andy ,he was getting on Wheelman about his aviator. That was a month ago. The worst part has been the hard feelings between the members. Some have been hurt enough to leave the site. I left for awhile but came back because I still have hope maybe we can get this place working again. Its getting real old complaining about something that should have been fixed a year ago. I could go on about how the administration has treated some members, especialy lately but I wont. Just my 2 cents on the subject.

I think that list just about sums it up. One more thing I would add: #13 (or would that be the real #12?) Ease of picture or picture album posting. And blown55, if by your "joined" date, you're referring to what's by your name and avatar, that's when you joined in the forums, not the club itself. When you joined the club shows in the upper left corner after you log in. But those of us who came over from the old site format all got reset to the 3/08 date. Our original "forum joined" date was lost.

Giv, thats what we need here. i am in agreement with all that has been posted. Well nows its up to adminstration to come through, like that is going to happen. It has been a year now and have seen very little improvement. The things that have been ask for should not be a problem to get done. I just don't think the people that needs to make the changes do not have the knowledge or this is where they do not want to invest money. So i wish not to invest my money to this club so give it back and i will make a better investment in this other club i have joined which has all that was spoke of here plus more. I have tried to hang on to some hope that if we as members that have left would come back and maybe the admistraition would get things up and running like we have ask. So for now i am moving on to the better forum that better suits me and will check here sometime in the future to see if it has changed. Thanks to all the members who has become a friend over the last three years. Street Thunder you need to get it together! Latter fellow forum members. Blazerman is out of here! Good luck *Blazerman*

They sound resonable enough, On #6 would'nt 1year online and 50 posts be good? On #12 Giv, with all the crap you've been through with this place,And your still around I think you'd be a good moderator, It shows ya care about this place!Well thats my .02 worth.

Ooh maan, Missed out again, #6 excludes me again. Not qualified. I been online and a life member since 10/04/05. but don't meet the qualifications. Only got 42 post. Guess I'll just have to make a few. I knew deleting any non important post would bite me in the a$$ later on. I just thought it would be alittle easier to sift thru post if the junk was not there. Maybe I'll have enough by that time if it was ever to happen. Uh ooh, just had a brain fart, maybe anything I've said was never important anyway. heeeheeehaaahaaa. I get my steaks and beer at least twice a month, only problem is they keep sendin me the bill. the longer you slide down the bannister of life, the more apt you are to get a splinter up your as$ Life mem. since:10/05 #60018939

Giv, I agree with all. #6 will disqualify me. Got over a year as a lifer and just shy of 50 posts. I also agree with giv as a moderator. Admin should at least communicate with us, even if it's not what we want to hear.

What exactly are we supposed to be replying to??? If I knew a reply was mandatory, I'd have given one. OK, here's my reply. I agree with what you proposed for the most part. That said, the site seems to work pretty well although there are a lot of things lacking. So shoot me, I'm not that hard to please. Your ideas are good and if they're implemented it would be great, if they aren't guess I'll live with it. I completley understand where you are coming from. Either way, I'm staying because I like it here. To those that decide to leave, that's your choice. Personally, I don't see what that will accomplish though. That's my reply like it or not.

Ok, here's my vote:
1- Agreed; EVERY other forum site I'm a member of, big and small, has this 2- Agreed; If I had been a member of this Forum/Club for 4 years and 3 years into it, that company makes an "upgrade" and now I'm marked as only being a member for 1 year...yeah I'd be more than a little pissed... 3- Agreed; If you want to voice your opinion, you need to join up...PERIOD 4- Agreed; If Photobucket or MySpace can do it without massive problems, why the hell can't the NSMC site? 5- Haven't experienced this...sorry, I'm new here 6- Agreed; I'm new, but I plan to be a Life Member when I can afford it and I think this criteria would be a great idea and show of appreciation to the site's longtime, loyal members, as well as something for the new, SERIOUS members to work towards...like an elite brotherhood in the club for all the newbies to look up to 7- Agreed; Again, not too much to ask, seeing as how EVERY other forum site has this feature...I would also volunteer my moderating services 8- Agreed; Either give a moderator full control to make decisions on their own, or be prepared to respond to their questions or concerns in a reasonable amount of time 9- Agreed; This would also be helpful to moderators 10- Agreed; How can you expect your members to be proud of their club, if you don't show pride in your members or any club affiliated functions 11- Agreed; Ever heard the phrase "The customer is always right"? 12- Agreed; Like I said, I'm new, but from what I have read, I think Giv would make a great moderator. It's all about having honor and respect, and unfortunately in places like public forums, sometimes these are things that need to be enforced.
I would also suggest that if any non Life Member is absent from the forums for a given amount of time then their forum privileges should be temporarily revoked. Like email providers do when your account is inactive for "X" amount of time. This could also apply to anyone who doesn't contribute to the community. I'm not trying to call out any of the long timers or make new enemies, but this should be a site that everyone should take a part in. Whether large or small, everyone should contribute SOMETHING, not just come to take away from it so-to-speak.
I know I'm a newbie to this site, but I've been around the block as far as forums go and I am familiar how one should be run, so take it easy on me...this is just my 2 cents after all...

Hey Giv, I agree with you'r requests. My question is, do you think these things could be implemented into this fourm or do we need Another whole NEW FOURM? MO-PAR to U <a href="http://s489.photobucket.com/a

First, let me say thanks Giv for clarifying the forum issues that you are not happy with, AND being civil about it. I would have replied sooner but havent been on in a couple days. I agree with Giv. I dont see any unreasonable requests here.I will even agree with #12, Giv as a moderator. Any other forum that I participate in has most everything Giv has mentioned above... Moderators, whos on at any given time, etc, etc. It certainly would be better if we had those. The lifers section should be private for lifers, no offense to anyone thats not a lifer. Most importantly, I hope there will be no more disputes between members, especially those that are verbally abusive. So ADMIN- Andy?

Okay I'm new and will admit that I do not know the "whole" story. But I do agree with Givrsum and feel that his requests are NOT unreasonable. This site is very confusing, posting pics, adding avatars and signatures should be very easy to do. I've noticed that the signatures look like part of the post rather than a signature that is separate from the post, it just doesn't look like a signature. I belong to several car related sites and this forum site is by far the worst as far as "user friendliness" is concerned. With that said let me throw this out there. Is it possible that the admins are gearheads rather than IT pros or PC gurus? That would explain some of the problems not being fixed in a timely manner....maybe they do not know how to fix it. My advice to the admins/Street Machine Club would be to hire a compitent website developer. Your members demand quality, do you respect our wishes or not? If your members are not happy, just how successful do you expect the website and magazine to be? Just my 2 cents.

ooookay Giv, I know I'm new at this computer stuff ,but I've been a lifer since April of 2008 and chartered months before that. It's just resently that I've tried my Suckass computer skills out. I paid my $$dues$$ got a nice jacket, the lifetime mag. and a tire pressure gauge to try out + 2 Armorall pads. That was about 1 yr. ago, nothing since. So don't go Bootin my ass out yet!
